Hi everyone! So today is the last day of spring break, and there has been lots to do. The whole week forecast was supposed to be rainy, but instead, it turned out to be very warm almost everyday!Easter is right around the corner, and I cannot wait for our annual Easter egg hunt! Well, I hope the rest of our flowers pop up, that way it will be permanently spring time. I got a new camera for my birthday, that was on March 8th (I TURNED 16!); and I took some pretty pictures for ya'll. Hope you guys are out enjoying today, get some sunshine in you!
A place where I can express my feelings with the world, about things that are going on in our world.

Makin' Dessert
Hi guys, this post will be short. I was in Tim Horton's with my mum, and I discovered that all of the donuts they make cannot be guaranteed nut free. So I went home, and looked up a recipe for my favorite, apple fritters <3 I made them, and I thought you guys could try to make them! Also included is a recipe for jelly filled donuts, and a link to my Allrecipes.com channel! Happy baking :)
Easy Apple Fritters
Ingredients:
1 + 1/3 cups all-purpose flour, sifted
1/4 cup sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 eggs, beaten
2/3 cup milk
1 tablespoon vegetable or canola oil, plus more for frying
3 cups apple, diced small or in small matchsticks
Glaze
1/2 cup whole milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
4 cups confectioners’ sugar, sifted
Instructions
Sift flour, sugar, baking powder and salt together. In a separate, large bowl combine eggs, milk and oil; stir in flour mixture and apples all at once mixing just until combined.
Heat 2-3 inches of oil in a large saucepan or cast iron skillet to 365 degrees F. Drop tablespoons of batter carefully into the oil frying until puffy and golden, turning once, about 3-4 minutes. Remove to paper towels and sprinkle with confectioners’ sugar and/or dunk in glaze.
Glaze:
In a medium saucepan over low heat combine milk and vanilla; heat until warm. Whisk the confectioners’ sugar slowly into the milk and continue whisking until well combined.
Remove glaze from the heat and set over a bowl of warm water. Dip doughnuts into the glaze and set on a wire rack or right into your mouth!
Jelly-filled Donuts
1 (1/4 ounce) package active dry yeast
1/2 cup lukewarm 2% low-fat milk
1 tablespoon sugar
2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 large egg, beaten
1 tablespoon butter, melted and cooled
vegetable oil, for frying
Fillings and Toppings
fruit preserves (or pudding, cream filling, etc)
Directions:
1 In a small bowl mix the yeast with the milk and sugar. Let sit until foamy, about 10 minutes. In a mixing bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the dough hook, combine flour and salt. When yeast is ready, add that to the mixing bowl.
2 Add the egg and butter. Begin to mix the ingredients into a soft, but not sticky, dough. (Add a little extra milk or extra flour, 1 tablespoon at a time as needed). Knead dough until smooth and elastic. Transfer the dough to a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and let rise until doubled in size, about 2 hours.
3 Punch down the dough. Turn out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for a few seconds. With a lightly floured rolling pin, gradually roll out the dough to about 1/2-inch thick. (When rolling dough, let it rest periodically to relax). Cut out into 3" rounds with a lightly floured biscuit cutter. Re-roll the scraps to make more rounds.
4 Place the doughnuts on lightly floured baking sheets, spacing them apart, and cover lightly with a dry towel. Let rise in a warm spot until doubled in size, about 20 minutes.
5 Using a deep fryer (or fill a heavy pot with 3" vegetable oil) and heat to 325°F Fry the doughnuts, a few at a time, until golden and puffed, 4-5 minutes, turning frequently using a slotted spoon.
6 Lift the doughnuts from the oil and place onto a cooling rack. Once cooled, fill a pastry bag using your filling of choice. Insert the tip into the end of each doughnut and pipe approximately 1-2 tsp filling into them. Dust with confectioners' sugar, coat with chocolate icing, or dip in glaze. Best eaten the same day.

Looking At Things In A Different Perspective
Today my semester two started. I had P.E.: which was easy because we didn't have to do anything. Then I had English Honors: which was fun because we have 22/ 25 students that are girls, and we have a fabulous writing assigned tonight. After lunch, I headed down to Math Foundations: which was pretty easy review with an annoying teacher. Then I trotted down to Art: which was the best part of the day, and the main reason why I'm posting this!
Art isn't my strongest area of expertise... but I highly recommend taking a course in that direction. The reason being is, you can relax, and you do learn a lot about the world, not just art history. Mrs.W was very welcoming to us, and sat us down. Our first assignment was to close our eyes, relax, and open them again in a different light. She told us to go outside in the bitter wind, and take a section of ground, and take a picture of detail. This opened up my view of the world because I could definitively see that there was so much I hadn't seen. Laying on my belly, I could see that ants were collecting food, that there were different shades of dirt, and the beautiful swaying clover. Of course there was way more, but we only got to pick a small section. Now we have to look at our photograph closer, and see what we've missed, and sketch it out on paper, then paint.
This has made me look at the world at a different perspective because, I see that things are growing, and others are prospering. Our world is so beautiful, thank you Lord for all of the earth. So, class, your assignment is to lay down on the grass, and concentrate...can you see something you haven't before? Stop and smell the roses :-)

Painting From My Soul
Hello everyone! Lately I've been super stressed, because of recent events, including provincial exams. I've been praying and trying different things to relieve my sudden migraines...but I finally realized I had to start drawing and painting again. My friend Caitlin is an amazing painter, and I know many others that are reaaally good at it, so I thought, "Why not?" :-)
Painting for me has expressed the pain, anger, and loneliness I have been burying inside, and I'd like to share them to you. You should try it ;-) <3
Love you guys, take care!

Long Weekend :D
So I've had a pretty bitter sweet weekend. I had a doctor's appointment, hung out with my boyfriend, and had sleepover with Caitlin and Mikeila :D We were all sick, but we had a blast. It's kinda funny how we go to the same school but we barely see each other D: (Ps: I'm addicted to making scrapbooks now :D There goes all of my money)
Heres a random picture of me:

The High School Normal
So as you all know, I started high school almost a month ago. I had nerves, new books, and I was excited. New teachers, new friendships, and new lockers...how much new things could you handle at once? Well for me it was rough. I mean, fitting in wasn't too bad, since I had friends from grade 9 to cling to, but I met new people. New people that did make it a struggle to enjoy certain classes.
Then the old friends kinda changed. I mean, I know everyone changes, but it was disappointing. Sure I made new ones, but I finally realized I changed a lot too, over the summer.
Everything changes, the seasons do, foods do, and fashion does. I really dislike change, but it's how we grow, and learn. As for the people that don't like me, there is always going to be haters. You just have to push on, because they aren't worth it. Enjoy school. It's not just there for you to flaunt your see through clothes, or fancy shoes. Education is important. I'm not trying to sound all teacher-like, but it's true.
Even though it has been a bumpy road, I finally feel as I've been accepted. I still felt insecure about how I looked. But then one of my friends who I'm going to keep Anonymous, (you know who you are :-) ) said I was beautiful the way I was. Now this is a very hard compliment to swallow, because I do not believe a word of it. But he was very persistent. Inspiration is what he has given me, to share this with you.
Confidence is one of the qualities I haven't gain yet, but I wish to. I think the sexiest thing in a man is confidence. Even if I can't feel beautiful, I can still feel confident about who I'am. Thank you Anonymous, you've really helped, more then you'd know...
Everyone has views about themselves, and high school is tough. But keep telling yourself that everything is going to look brighter in the future. At least once a day, go up to some random person, and say "Hi". You could really change someone's day for the better.
I love you all,
Danae Charlebois

Jobs, Nervousness, and the Countdown Until School
Well guys, I GOT A JOB! So I prayed and prayed for a great one, that wouldn't interfere with my school work and friendships. And I got an answer!
I was at my favourite Chinese food restaurant with my Mom, and the owner has known me since I was little. He offered to interview me for a busing job. So I got my resume all ready and handed it in. Then 2 weeks later, I got a call for an interview. So I went this morning, and was very nervous and excited at the same time. So I did get the job because he thought I was responsible and mature :-D And I only have to work Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, from 5pm - 9pm. $10.25 an hour!
Well I'am very blessed, and happy to get some pocket money and experience. I thank God for helping me. See? Miracles do happen!
So school is going to start very soon. The final countdown: 8 MORE DAYS! I'm going to a S.S.S tour tomorrow actually. Very nervous, but excited. I got my favourite classes: Guitar and Drama.
So I'am very very very happy and thankful for all of these wonderful things that are happening to me. I hope that these experiences will help me in the future.
Thanks for reading this!

END OF JULY!
Well it is almost the end of July, and soon I will have my schedule for high school. Summer has been pretty uneventful, except for having some sleepovers, going to the horse races in Vancouver, and having some parties. A lot of people are going to camp, finishing up summer school, and going on vacation. But I'm stuck in Chilliwack. Oh well, I'm going to a wedding on August 18th, and it's my first one I've been invited to. I get to bring a date, and dress up, and get to take some pictures!
I hope you guys are having a safe summer break, and doing the countdown until school starts....36 MORE DAYS!!! :D I'm scared, but excited.

Summer Love, Diets, and Sunshine
Well, now it's summer. A time for ice cream, bike riding, and spending time with friends. Right now, my guy friends are just playing some video games, while i'am blogging.
I auditioned for the Sardis Secondary play, and didn't get a role. But it's okay, because i don't mind being in the background.
Lately, i've been trying to do more good in the world. Helping people out, having alone time with myself, and thinking about my future. I hope God has a really good plan for my life. I want to make a difference in this world we live in. I'am going to be starting high school soon. I'm really nervous, but i'm slightly reassured. I know God is by my side, and no one can hurt me. I hope I can make friends, my age and older. I want to shine my light, and show people that going to youth group is a fun thing to do. I've invited over 20 of my friends, and most have come back to vist and learn.
I've been blessed to make new friends when i started middle school. by opening up, and being accepted for who i'am. I have lots of good friends that help me with everyday struggles. I've had 2 friends recently accept God as their Savior. I'am so excited for them!
I also have known this guy for almost 3 years. I've been mutual friends with him, and have become recently best friends with him during grade 9. I found out that he is a Christian also, and goes to church and youth group. We have a lot in common. except that he is 8 inches taller then me! :-P I'm so glad that he has accepted me into his life. We've been spending a lot of time together for the past 7 months, and i've liked him for a while. I'am not allowed to date yet, but we hang in groups. I found out his liked me also, and I felt complimented. He is a very smart and sweet gentleman, who welcomes people into our circle. He creates a positive aura around him, and shines. I'am in love with this amazing person. He is right beside me, and says hi to all of you. :-)
So I say farewell for now,
Love people, have lots of sunscreen, and sooth your worries with ice tea.

Homemade Pizza, YouTube, and Mikeila Bellavance
Today, or should I say, this morning, I'am just sleeping over at Mikeila's house! We've made pizza, and just chilling around.
These past couple of weeks have been tough, my mom is still real sick, and was in the hospital, recently. It's put a strain on our family, seeing that I'm the only child in my family. I have no grandparents, neither close family friends, that live here in Chilliwack. I need prayer, to remain strong through these tough times. I'm so glad I have true friends to lean on. Seriously, I don't know what I'd do without God or support.
Today I was putting my testimony together for youth group, for next week. It stirred some emotions from the past, and shook me up a little. But then I remember you can learn from your mistakes, and that God will always forgive me.
So guys, this is just from me. Never take having a Mom or a Dad for granted. We are so lucky. I love you guys, all of you out there, just clicking on this blog to check it out...just remember. GOD LOVES YOU NO MATTER WHAT! :-)
Signing off,
Danae Charlebois :)

Youth Group
So tonight is youth group, and my close friend Matthew Duguay is sharing his testimony with everyone. Really excited for it. But for now, i'm just hanging at school with my friend Kevin once again, at Spring Production... trolling on the interweb. ;-)
Listening to my friend Lexi sing is amazing. I wish that I could sing as good as her, I mean then I wouldn't be as embarrassed to sing along with her :-P
But anyhow, the weather is just gray, and not exciting (that's Chilliwack for you...) At lunchtime it was warm and spring-like, but now it's still. The flowers are starting to come out, and the grass is starting to become more greener. The sky can be nice and clear, with white fluffy clouds. But not today...At least I wasn't stuck inside in Broadcast Media, around droning computers, and stuffy air.
But soon it shall be May, and summer-like, with more birds and babies being born. But then again, that month will be full of studying for the final exams...making notes, and memorizing science formulas, and remembering to create the perfect paragraphs for English.
I'm just worried that I'll have to go to summer school for Science...quite a bit harder then I thought it would start being. Thinking on the bright side, there are going to be more pool parties, all nighters :-)
Well good day all, and farewell

So, right now, you are probably wondering why i'm babbling on about my life as a typical Canadian teenage girl, but I guess i'm just excited to post something for once. I'm on my friend Kevin's laptop, in Spring Production! IF you guys are in the area. come to our "DethFrost". It's an awesome play, 'aboot' which is about heavy metal vikings/evil queen/Scottish people Greeks/French/ and LEGENDS! It's in May, on the 9th, 10th and 11th. So come out and chill with Caitlin, Kevin, Eric, and me!

When Things Aren't Going As Planned, Eat Pizza....:-)
So this week has been a busy, and stressful. But thank goodness it's Friday! But things at home have been a bit tough, so I'm just at my friend Eric's house for a couple of hours! We are just chilling, singing songs and playing guitar. we decided to order a pizza tonight. Still waiting for it...45 min wait....waiting...waiting....
But it's alright because they will come soon. Patience is a virtue and I still have yet to learn to be more patient. At least food tastes better when your hungry! I'm thankful for friends and food! Oh the pizza is here! Talk to you guys later!

2012 So Far
Well after many changes, and many let downs in 2011, this new year is coming along nicely. Been hanging out with friends a lot recently, and having a blast! :-) Been having stomach problems, so getting that checked out. It's been raining a lot lately...which sucks. But tryouts are soon for Spring Production, about January 17th we have to show a portion of singing, and acting. Hopefully I can get a good role! This year it's about Heavy Metal Vikings!

He Rose and Conquered The Grave...
Thank-you Lord for your Son. I praise you Jesus for saving us, and loving us. You can move the mountains, and make miracles happen. I've seen it happen! Shine your light and let the whole world see <3 I'm going to stand, and do whats right in your name. Just for you Jesus, because you died for me. I love you dear Father. I don't have to prove anything to anyone, just only here to spread your love, I'am YOUR follower! Yes, I'am the "Christian girl", but that's who I'am! I'm not anything lower then anyone else, I'm not like anyone else though. I will not worship idols, and I believe YOU and YOU only <3
You saved me and all of us, and cleared our sins clean. I'am not perfect, I try to be, but I'am human. I'm one person and one of many people, I'am Danae Charlebois, and I LOVE JESUS CHRIST! Wipe my sins away again dear God. You are my Savior, and my light. Guide me. Lead me with your Holy Bible. I devour your word, and try to follow in your footsteps. I made a commitment at age 4, and got baptisted at age 12. Best days of my life!
I will try hard to be a good daughter, and get my friends to open their eyes and see how wonderful You are.
See what happens when I listen to good music? This is my prayer.
Thank-you Lord,
Danae <3

Christmas Changes
Well, practically all of my friends are on vacation, and enjoying life in Mexico or in California...or visiting their Mom or Dad...or sick..or busy shopping. Here I'am with my tub of red velvet ice cream, and a big spoon. Chilliwack if pretty boring if you ask me. I know that Christmas is to be celebrated about Christ's birthday, and family...but this year it's a bit downgraded. The Charlebois' family is not having a big bash this year, like we have for the past 14 years...we are having a dinner for 3 instead. I'am really grateful for the things I have, and I don't actually mind what I'm getting for Christmas. I just really wish that Christmas break would be over already. I miss my friends, and school. I miss being in Broadcast Media, and being involved in activities. I've biked everywhere, had one sleepover, watched more Christmas specials, and listened to more 'Seether' and 'Hedley' music more then usual. I guess you could say I have the blues...and I don't know why. I've tried to keep my mind off of....him. I've gone Christmas shopping, wrapped presents, and baked cookies. Ugh, I wish that he didn't have to be away, but at least I'll be able to see him after Boxing Day!
Well, this is Danae, saying, goodnight!

Yes, I'am sure!
So tonight we had a Christmas movie night with my youth group and I had a BLAST! He was there, the guy I liked, and we had a fun time. We all drank pop,and ate chips, and chilled for a few hours, not even bothering to watch the movie. So we stayed up in the youth room, and played Ping Pong, Foosball, and tag. We wrestled, we sang, and had a jolly good time! Early Merry Christmas to ya'll out there in Chilliwack and other places!
Soo happy :)
Going to sleep now,
talk you guys later :-)

Starting New
Yesterday I broke up with my boyfriend. Not just because I kinda have a crush on another guy, but because we were on different pages, and he wanted different things then me. I had thought he was the one, but he was a fraud. I'm done for now. And I know what you guys are all thinking. "Oh, no, Danae is gonna have a boyfriend in a week or so". No, I've decided that I need to wait, and let God guide me.
Just updating for you guys :P There is a dance tomorrow, but I'm skippin' it, and gonna hang with my friends. because we are too cool to dance :-D
Have a great night guys!
